The transceiver module designed to be used with an XGS-PON link on a single-mode fiber or up to 20 Km is RTXM166-702 XGS-PON ONU SFP. This module complies with ITU-T G.9807.1 and certain portions of SFF-8432, followed by RoHS.

The key features of this module comprise the following:
- The bit rate supported by this module is 9.95Gb S, comprising a hot-pluggable SFP+form factor.
- This module has an industrial case temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees centigrade and a power dissipation of less than 2 watts with a single power supply of 3.3 volts.
- The maximum length of the link it covers is 20 Km for a single mode fiber, and it has a transmitter in continuous mode DFB with 1270 nm and receiver APP with burst mode 1577 nm.
- It aligns with ITU-T G.9807.1 and RoHS and has a management interface of I2C and single SC receptacles.
