DWDM Long Distance Application

As optical transmission is mainly affected by signal attenuation and fiber dispersion, when the transmission distance becomes longer, the signal will be attenuated and dispersed. Active optical devices such as EDFA/DCM can be configured to ensure high-speed and stable transmission performance.

In long-distance single fiber transmission, red wave and blue wave signals in the optical fiber are separated and recombined through a red/blue filter, which is coupled with EDFA for amplification to increase the power budget, so as to achieve long-distance transmission and minimize the laying cost.
