10G Transponder

Product Overview

HYD TECHNOLOGY has designed a service access module for optical fiber links known as 10G transponders. This transponder can implement 3R signal regeneration with multiple services and rate protocols ranging between 1.25 Gbit/s to 11.3Gbit/s. These protocols may also be converted into a standard wavelength signal of CWDM/DWDM through multiplex transmission.

The 10G transponder is suitable for SONET, SAN, OTN, SDH, video, and many more business access providing a high-quality solution to resolve the issues of transmission lines like loss of line or insufficient fiber.

The application of 10G transponder

The application in DWDM system:

10G transponders (usually referred to as 10G optical modules or 10G optical transceivers) play a key role in DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) systems. The following are the applications in DWDM systems:

3. Multi-protocol support:

Modern 10G transponders can support multiple protocols, such as 10GbE (10Gbit/s Ethernet), 10G-FC (10Gbit/s Fiber Channel), OTN (Optical Transport Network), etc.

4. Long-distance transmission:

Different types of 10G transponders (such as LR, ER, ZR) can support different transmission distances, ranging from several kilometers to hundreds of kilometers. This makes them suitable for point-to-point connections over various distances.

5. Provide broadband connections:

10G transponders can be used to provide high-bandwidth connections, such as backup and data migration between data centers, remote video transmission, etc.

6. Network upgrade:

For many already deployed 1G or lower rate networks, 10G transponders provide a simple and cost-effective method for network upgrades.

7. Low latency:

In financial transactions, high-frequency trading, or other applications that require low latency, 10G transponders can provide fast point-to-point connections.

8. Compatibility:

Modern 10G transponders are typically designed to be compatible with existing network equipment, including switches, routers, and servers.

9. Cost Savings:

With the advancement of technology, the cost of transponders has been greatly reduced, making it an economical choice for providing high-speed point-to-point connections.

10. Simplified management and maintenance:

Point-to-point connections are generally easier to manage and maintain because it reduces intervening network equipment and complexity.

In summary, 10G transponders provide a high-speed, reliable and cost-effective solution for point-to-point optical fiber transmission, meeting the needs of modern networks for high-performance connections.

The application of 10G transponder in metropolitan area network :

10G transponders also play a key role in the Metropolitan Area Network (MAN). The following are the applications in metropolitan area networks:
